Meet the wolves, bears, deer, and other magnificent creatures that call Applegate Park Zoo home. The animal rescue has been taking in injured animals that can’t survive in the wild and surplus animals from other zoos since the 1920s.
Since its relocation and rehabilitation in the early 1960s, the zoo has taken on a regional theme that classifies the native plants and wildlife of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Central San Joaquin Valley.
The zoo also offers behind-the-scenes tours where guests are allowed to feed some of the animals and play with the bobcats.
